Mumbai: The Esplanade court on Wednesday issued a notice to 12 people including trustees of Siddharth College, instructing that they cannot enter the institute premises until further order.

Astruggle to control the Fort college has been going on between two warring Dalit factions. After the police filed a report in the court, the latter passed an order on June 28 say
ing that the two presidents of the college, trustees and some others cannot enter the institute’s premises. The matter will be heard on June 28.
In June last year, 51 members of the Prakash Ambedkarled Bharipa Bahujan Mahasangh were arrested by the Azad Maidan police for allegedly trying to barge into the college over a governing body dispute and injuring eight cops in the process. The police had said that at the time of the incident more than 200 people had gathered outside the college that is run by the People’s Education Society. The mob tried to enter the society’s office located in the college building, the police said.
