Mumbai: Chennai Super Kings principal Gurunath Meiyappan reported at the city crime branch office early Wednesday, signed an attendance diary there and left half an hour later.
Meiyappan was released from Mumbai’s Arthur Road jail on Tues day after the court set several tough conditions including reporting at the police station every alternative day.
Sources said he spent the previous night at a south Mumbai five-star ho tel where two rooms had been booked in the name of India Cements. He checked out at 7.30am to go to the crime branch office. It was not clear if had left for Chennai as was specu lated on Tuesday. The Mumbai air port could not confirm if a flight car rying Meiyappan took off from there. Actor-cum-bookie Vindu Dara Singh, who was granted bail along with Meiyappan, was at his Juhu house the whole day.
Separately, Ramesh Vyas, who the Mumbai police say played a key role in the IPL betting case, filed an application at a magistrate court here saying he has been illegally de tained despite being granted bail day earlier.
