Mall bizman arrested in forgery case

Mumbai: The VP Road police on Saturday arrested, Bhupesh Jain, one of the partners of central-Mumbai-based Atria mall, in a cheating and forgery case. He is currently lodged in Arthur Road jail.
The complainant, Janardhan Shelke, is a rationing officer, the police said, adding that Shelke had filed a complaint in July last year stating that during the scrutiny of a document submitted by Jain, it was found that a copy of the ration card was forged. The matter pertains to permissions obtained for the construction of a highrise near Grant Road.
The police claim to have established Jain’s involvement in the crime before making their arrest. — Mateen Hafeez
