Film firm MD, father held in cheating case



Mumbai: 

The economic offences wing on Wednesday arrested the managing director of Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd and his father in connection with a cheating case.Till now, eight people have been arrested in the case.

 Dhilon Mehta (33) and his father, Harshad Mehta (57), were remanded in police custody till April 24. The complainant, Tejpal Shah, told the police that the firm's directors raised funds for their business, cheated shareholders and siphoned off funds to the tune of Rs 825 crore.

Ashtavinayak is one of Bollywood's largest production and distribution firms.Shah is a movie distributor and possessed distribution rights of some Ashtavinayak films.
